The story, leadership, and mission behind NEOK Construction Company.
NEOK Construction Company was founded to bring three decades of commercial construction experience to the growing Northeastern Oklahoma market. The company is led by an owner-operator whose career spans project management, estimating, field supervision, and subcontractor and client relationships on commercial and light-industrial projects across Colorado — including projects in excess of $25 million. Since bringing that career to Oklahoma, founder Jim Gettman has already delivered projects for the Muskogee Public School District and Claremore First Baptist Church, giving NEOK's leadership a proven local track record alongside its broader experience.
NEOK's approach is simple: solicit multiple competitive bids per trade on every project, keep senior-level oversight on the job from start to finish, and deliver an honest number that holds. Rather than relying on a small circle of existing relationships, NEOK sources trade partners through vetted subcontractor bidding databases and regional plan rooms — maximizing competition to give clients the strongest combination of price, quality, and reliability.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Colorado State University and has spent more than 30 years building a career in commercial construction, primarily in Colorado. He progressed from Superintendent/Project Manager at Colorado Constructors and Associates, through Project Manager and Manager of Tenant Improvement Services roles at Saunders Construction, to Project Manager at HITT Contracting, and most recently Senior Project Manager at GH Phipps Construction Companies, where he managed projects in excess of $25 million and mentored junior project managers. Jim has since brought that experience to Oklahoma, delivering projects for the Muskogee Public School District and Claremore First Baptist Church.
Allison co-owns NEOK and brings her own directly relevant background to the company's operations: experience at a civil surveying firm and in civil drilling and testing gives her firsthand familiarity with the site-development and geotechnical side of construction projects, while her background in accounting, bookkeeping, and project administration gives her the financial discipline and process-driven skill set behind NEOK's back office, job costing, and client-facing administration.
“Every NEOK project starts with an honest bid and a number that holds. The plan comes together lean and fast, because getting it right the first time beats fixing it the second. The work doesn't stop at good enough — it stops when it's actually done. And once the crew moves on, NEOK doesn't: the work still stands, and so does the company behind it.”
